Microchanneling

What is Microchanneling?

Micro channeling treatment is a minimally invasive skin treatment that involves using fine needles to create tiny punctures in the top layer of the skin. These punctures trigger the skin's natural healing process, stimulating the production of collagen and elastin, which will help with acne scars and wrinkles.

Before and After Microchanneling

    Micro Channeling Treatment FAQ

Please reach us at blinkandglowstudios@gmail.com if you cannot find an answer to your question.

Microchanneling typically has minimal downtime, with most people experiencing only temporary redness and slight sensitivity for a few hours to a day after treatment, allowing them to resume normal activities shortly after the procedure; unlike microneedling, which often requires more significant downtime due to increased skin penetration.

    Key points about microchanneling downtime:

    • Minimal redness: The most noticeable side effect is usually mild redness that fades within 24 hours.
    • No major disruption to routine: You can typically apply makeup and go about your day after a short period of time, often within 90 minutes.

The number of microchanneling sessions you need depends on your skin concerns and goals. You might need one or two sessions for mild concerns, or three to six sessions for deeper wrinkles and scarrin

Before a microchanneling session, you should:

    • Avoid sun exposure: Don't expose the treatment area to the sun without protection for at least 2 weeks before your appointment.
    • Stop certain medications: Avoid topical and oral medications that may increase skin sensitivity, such as retinoids, exfoliants, and topical antibiotics or acids.
    • Avoid waxing: Don't wax or use chemical depilatories in the treatment area for 5–7 days before your appointment.
    • Discontinue Accutane: If you take Accutane, stop taking it at least 6 months before your appointment.
    • Avoid chemical peels: Don't get a chemical peel 2 weeks before or after your appointment.
    • Discontinue blood-thinning drugs: Stop taking blood-thinning drugs and supplements, such as aspirin, warfarin, and fish oil, 2 days before treatment.
